QuestionIs FreeOSZoo ready for use in production?
QuestionFreeOSZoo and QEMU are designed for learning purposes. They are not intended for use in a company or in a production process. If you are looking for reliability, please install a Free OS on real hardware. Before using FreeOSZoo, you are supposed to read and accept our conditions.
 
QuestionCan QEMU destroy the host Operating System (my existing OS)?
QuestionBecause QEMU only writes information in the guest OS, the chances to destroy the host OS are very low.
 
QuestionCan QEMU destroy the guest Operating System (the OS provided by FreeOSZoo)?
QuestionThe guest OS provided by FreeOSZoo is executing into QEMU emulated environment, including a virtual hard drive and a virtual memory space. Whenever a serious problem happens on the host OS (like a power failure, a virus, a hard-disc failure, etc...), the guest OS provided by FreeOSZoo may be destroyed. We can only recommend to make daily backups.

QuestionQEMU emulated environment is from twice to four times slower than real hardware.
 
QuestionHow much disc space do I need?
QuestionYou need at least the same space as the size of the FreeOSZoo unpacked image. Generaly from 1 Gb to 4.3 Gb. Check the download section.

QuestionYou probably need 256 Mb or more on the host to allow execution of the guest OS without accessing virtual memory.

QuestionFreeOSZoo Operating Systems are fully configured. Some systems like the GNU/linux SuSE guest display configuration wizards on first startup.

QuestionFreeOSZoo allows you to install a Free OS on top of your existing OS. You existing OS is left unchanged.
